Welcome to the charming seaside town of White Cliff Bay, where Christmas is magical and love is in the air…

Penny Meadows loves her home – a cosy cottage decorated with pretty twinkling fairy lights and stunning views over the town of White Cliff Bay. She also loves her job as an ice-carver, creating breathtaking sculptures. Yet her personal life seems frozen.

When Henry and daughter Daisy arrive at the cottage to rent the annex, Penny is determined to make them feel welcome. But while Daisy is friendly, Henry seems guarded.

As Penny gets to know Henry, she realises there is more to him than meets the eye. And the connection between them is too strong to ignore…

While the spirit of the season sprinkles its magic over the seaside town and preparations for the ice sculpting competition and Christmas eve ball are in full swing, can Penny melt the ice and allow love in her heart? And will this finally be the perfect Christmas she’s been dreaming of?

Like a creamy hot chocolate with marshmallows, you won’t want to put this deliciously heartwarming novel down.

First off I have to comment on the gorgeous front cover of this book. It's THE christmas cover of the year I think. I'ts beautiful, it has snow, christmas trees, a cosy cottage, berries on the trees and falling snow! What is not to love about this cover?!

I am so excited to be a part of the blog tour for this book because it simply the most beautiful book I've read in a long time. I've recently been unwell with a condition that made it really hard to do the normal things that people take for granted like reading or walking across the room - without vertigo kicking in, so i'll be honest in admitting I haven't quite finished this book but just because the post goes live today doesn't mean for one second that i'm not going to carry on reading this. I have to - I need to know what happens!

What I have read of this book had my heart warming instantly, to say that it is sweetly romantic in the right doses would be an understatement. The characters are so utterly lovable, the delicate stirrings of love and hope are so uplifting that each night when I go to bed I can't wait to pick up reading where I left off. Christmas at Lilac Cottage is a sparkling gem among the snow!

We meet Penny on the first page as she's baking for her new lodgers who will be moving into her annex and she really hopes that they are people she can become great friends with. All she knows are their names; Henry and Daisy. Henry arrives alone and Penny is stunned by his handsome features and perky bum! Like any hot blooded woman she has to keep reminding herself that he has a wife - Daisy and she needs to pack it in. Henry and Penny hit it off and on again... you see he can be quite grumpy and Penny can be quite sensitive, but like adults should, they have a little chat and become fond of each other.

Penny is an ice sculptor and hits it off with Daisy when she arrives (I'm not going to spoil that one because it is a gem among the snow that scene!) and soon they are sculpting ice together in Penny's cooler room.

The way these characters interact with each other and invite you into their world is so mesmerizing, and intricately unique that you can't help but feel a part of their lives, a friend of theirs. There was one part in the story where Penny, Henry, Daisy and Penny's friend Jill are sitting in the kitchen talking about their name's and the chemistry between all characters is just so sweet and scrumptious that I fell in love with them all - all over again!

If you love christmas, and crafts, and love, and romance, and want to know which book is worth reading this year, hands down its Christmas at Lilac Cottage in my opinion. I have loved every page so far, and I can't wait to savor the remaining pages!
